Eligibility For JEE (Advanced) 2019

Distribution of top 2,24,000 candidates across various categories is as follows:

  • - Top 1,13,120 (50.5 %) Common Merit List
  • - Top 60,480 (27%) Other Backward Classes- Non creamy layer OBC (NCL)
  • - Top 33,600 (15 %) Scheduled Caste (SC)
  • - Top 16,800 (7.5 %) Scheduled Tribe (ST) 
  • - 3% of the total candidates in each category is reserved for PwD candidates as per GoI norms.

- The age limit says that the candidates must be born on or after 1st october, 1993. 5 years of age relaxation is given to the SC, ST and PwD candidates.

- A candidate can give maximum 2 times attempt in consecutive years


Fee details (In India) are as follows:

  • . Rs.2400/-  for general category 
  • . Rs.1200/- for SC, ST, PwD 
  • . All the female candidates have to pay Rs. 1200 

- For candidates who are having exam centres outside India (SAARC Countries) have to pay the fees of US$ 135 whereas for those having exam centres outside India (Non-SAARC countries) have to pay US$ 270.
- The requisite fee has to be deposited (without late fee) is before first week of May 2019.
The last date to register for JEE Advanced 2019 is before first week of May 2019.

Process of Payment of Registration Fees:
To pay the registration fees for JEE (Advanced) – 2018, a candidate needs to follow these steps:
1. Fill up the online registration form completely.
2. On completion of registration process the bank payment challan will be generated or you can pay through online banking.
3. For offline payment mode, print the generated challan.
4. Make the payment against the generated challan at the given bank branch.
5. Get the counterpart of the challan endorsed by the bank.
6. Necessary documents should be send through speed post i.e. the photocopy of the challan along with the
i.  Class X marks sheet (if DOB is not mentioned in it then you have to send a DOB certificate)
ii. Class XII marks sheet if available
iii. Caste certificate as applicable;
iv. PwD certificate as applicable and send all of them to the zonal IIT under which you have been registered.


The status regarding the registration, including the receipt of payment, will be available on the JEE (Advanced) website where the candidate had registered. If the receipt of it is not indicated within 72 hours of the payment, then you should contact JEE (Advanced) office for clarification.
