SAT Introduction
SAT or Scholastic Aptitude Test is a high standard test which serves as prerequisites for admissions in undergraduate courses in American universities. The test is conducted 2 times in a single calendar year by College Board(collegeboard.com) which is a non-profit organization in USA. It is estimated that 2 million globally and 70,000 Indian applicants give SAT exam every year. There are two types of SAT:

Most of the universities require SAT-I only, but some elite universities requires good scores in SAT-II along with SAT-I.
SAT-I Format
SAT-I is a 3hr 20mins english and mathematics test which is divided into 10 sections- 3 critical reading section, 3 writing section, 3 mathematics sections and an experimental section.

The score of each section is on the scale of 200-800. Although the new SAT test consists of ten sections, your scores are based on only nine of them.
SAT Eligibility
There isn't any eligibility criteria for SAT. Any student who has done his 10+2 class from any Indian recognized board, irrespective of national or state board, is eligible to appear in SAT-I or SAT-II. There isn't any criteria regarding minimum marks for appearing in SAT. One can give the test during 11th class or even after 12th boards. Your SAT scores are valid for 5 years, most colleges accept SAT score up to 5 yrs old, but it is better that scores are not older than 2 yrs.
SAT Registration
The registration of SAT is done on first come first basis. The registration fee is $71.00 approx which is paid online at official website of SAT. In India SAT is conducted in following cities:
