The Medical Council of India is to conduct a Single Eligibility cum Entrance Examination, namely, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for admission to MBBS Course in each academic year.
The Medical Council of India and Dental Council of India have notified that the CBSE shall be the
association to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS and BDS Courses.
Accordingly, the CBSE will conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS and BDS Courses in the academic session 2013-14 on Sunday, the 5th May 2013.
The Central Board of Secondary Education has issued an Information
booklet containing important instructions about the examination.

Pattern of the Entrance Examination: -
The Entrance Examination shall consist of one paper containing 180 objective type questions (four options with single correct answer) from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) to be answered on the
expressly designed machine-gradable sheet using Ball Point Pen only. The duration of paper would be 03 hours.

There are four parts in the question paper: -

(i) Section 1 – Physics (180 marks) – 45 Question
(ii) Section 2 – Chemistry (180 marks) – 45 Question
(iii) Section 3 – Botany (180 marks) – 45 Question

(iv) Section 4 – Zoology (180 marks) – 45 Question

DATE OF EXAMINATION: -
The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) –UG, 2013 will be conducted on Sunday the 05th May 2013 from 10:00 am to 01:00 pm. (The duration of paper would be 3 hours)The schedule will remain unaffected even if the above date is confirmed a public holiday.

ELIGIBILITY AND QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Indian Nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) are Eligible for appearing in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG)

    Eligibility for All India Quota Seats

    (I) She/he has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course and is an INDIAN NATIONAL.

    (II) The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15% All India Quota Seats is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that this upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes. Candidate must born on or between


    (a) 01.01.84 to 01.01.97 (SC/ST/OBC Category)

    (b) 01.01.89 to 01.01.97 (Other Category)

    Eligibility for State Quota Seats


    (I) She/he has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course and is an INDIAN NATIONAL.

    (II) Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are eligible for admission in Medical/Dental Colleges subject to rules and regulations framed by the respective State Governments and the Government of India.
