Exam reforms: CBSE to assess students

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct four formative assessments and two summative assessments in schools this year. The assessments would be held under the Examination Reforms and Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation(CCE) scheme the CBSE had introduced since the CBSE had introduced since the academic year 2009-10 for all CBSE- affiliated schools.

The first summative assessment for this term for classes 9 and 10 will be conducted in the second half of September.
Under the school-based summative assessment, the students will be tested internally  based on the syllabus and the pattern of the examination question paper in different subjects. The test would be conducted in the school themselves. The question papers will be sent to the schools in the form of CDs, whereby the schools can choose their respective question papers and print them.

The answers will be evaluated by the schoolteachers themselves, according to the various marketing schemes of the board. The school may use Sahodaya school cluster for spot evaluation so that teachers from other schools are involved. The schools have been asked to design the datesheets accordingly.
